Shadow Song
Shadow Song by Terry Kay is a very good read. Summer of 1955 revisited with very dear old friends and old memories. Old loves and new life. Hopefully, everyone has a summer of '55. Some I've read and enjoyed lately: The Rector's Wife, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, A Redbird Christmas, Tender is the Night, Luncheon of the Boating Party, The Art of Racing in the Rain.
Tangier ferry
The passenger ferry from Onancock, VA to Tangier Island runs from May 1, through October. A nice day trip. Cruise Onancock Creek and the Chesapeake Bay and have lunch on the island. The boat leaves Onancock promptly at 10 A. M. and returns at 3 P. M.
Eastern Shore events
Wednesday, May 4, 2011 from noon to 4 is the Eastern Shore Seafood Festival at Tom's Cove Campground at Chincoteague, VA. This annual "all you can eat" seafood feast is always a popular occasion with visitors and locals alike. Food, beverages, and music all in a lovely setting along Chincoteague's waterfront. Check our web site, http://www.bayviewwaterfrontbedandbreakfast.com/, for a special featuring the festival.
The annual Black Drum World Championship Fishing Tournament was held May 14-15, 2010. The tournament is based at Bay Creek marina in Cape Charles, VA. This year's winner was a neighbor of ours. Visit esvachamber.org for more information
